Frequently Asked Questions?

Below are some of the most commonly asked questions.

What is the Bore Size?
2-8" bore is our specialty (inside diameter of the cylinder body.) If you don't know, provide the outside diameter and operating pressure and we can figure the most probable bore size with that information.

What is the Stroke of a Cylinder?
Amount of travel, from fully extended to fully retracted.
What are Hook ups / Mounts?
This refers to the manner in which the cylinder, attaches to the equipment. i.e.. clevis, lug , crosstube, or trunnion. If in the event the base and rod differ from each other, you need to specify briefly what style is used for which end.

What is PSI?
PSI is an acronym for Pounds per Square Inch. Our normal range of pressures are 150 operating pressure, 250 test pressure for air cylinders. 1500 - 4000 operating pressure for hydraulic, and a test pressure up to 4500 PSI.

Port Size?
We can supply standard ports NPT or SAE, and all types of control valves / manifolds.
How fast can I get my product?
Our standard delivery is 4-6 weeks on all custom built cylinders. This can be negotiated, and expedited deliveries can be purchased.
What is Retracted Length?
Retracted length is the distance from the center of the rod pin to the center of the base pin when the cylinder is fully closed. However if the cylinder happens to have a trunnion, the length will be determined from the center of the journal on the trunnion to the the end with a rod mount. ( center of rod mount)
